A Bohemian Wedding in New England

Right off the bat, one thing was certain, Mom was going to be an integral part of the wedding production. It is so very special to witness the love the exudes from those closest to the couple throughout the planning process. Mom and the bride, both, were creative souls with so much design in mind, but handing over the reins to Mom, Jessica felt comfortable and at ease that she would guide the design of her daughter’s wedding day in a direction that both showed who Jess, Jameson, and their lives together was like, and encompassed guests in a beautiful, summer affair.

Mom wanted all 275 guests to feel like they were attending the best family weekend get-together of their lives. High-class, exceptional quality and unparalleled service were of utmost importance while keeping the guest experience one of family, welcoming and comfortable.

Together with key personnel from the design team, such as Vermont Tent Company & Drape Art Designs, Mom’s vision began to come to fruition. Soon, the largest tent The Brick House had ever seen, paired with a secondary tent for bar and lounging, connected through a grove of ancient Shelburne trees started being built. The wedding weekend promised uninterrupted sunshine and a light Champlain breeze.

Wedding day weather was perfection, and just as the team completed final touches inside the tent, after a week’s worth of building, guests began to arrive. They were greeted with pre-ceremony cocktails on the Brick House patio before heading down to the meadow to find their seats for a ceremony overlooking lake views.

Inside the elegant 1840’s farmhouse (with a few improvements from the Webb family), Jessica and her bridesmaids awaited the big moment. Sneaking a peek through the curtained tea room window, the jitters started setting in. With Jameson, the groomsmen, and the most important fur children ready, the procession began. Anxiously awaiting her turn, Jessica hid out of sight as her soon-to-be-made his way down the aisle.

The most emotional moment is always (for us) when the couple finally sees one another. Having skipped a First Look, Jameson laid eyes on his bride for the first time as she appeared on the patio, walking between manicured hedges and down the old Brick House steps. Everyone was in awe at Jessica in her incredible intricate lace Rue de Seine gown, but none more than Jameson.

From the ceremony, guests made their way to the lounge tent & bar area. They entered through a garland archway, paired with home-grown hydrangea plants to be greeted by wicker lounge furniture, stunning floral arrangements from In Full Bloom, full of soft summer colors, a twenty by twenty foot square bar in the center of the tent manned by Fluid, and a ceiling of hanging greenery and Thai basket lanterns in various designs and sizes for a truly “wow” factor impact.

Cocktail Hour prepared guests to then make their way into a similarly stylized reception tent through the grove corridor but had the added impact of a giant black and white checkered dance floor in the center of the tent. Music began, and a night of dancing, feasting, and total celebration kicked off.

Just when they thought the night was over, guests were whisked away to the After Party, a mini version of the wedding reception, a checkered floor under a clear-top tent, nestled in the trees beside Lake Champlain at the family’s home. Twinkle lights and a starry night lit the way for a continued evening of enjoyment, and bride, groom, family & guests were left with unforgettable memories of a truly spectacular weekend.
