We are so excited to be able to share with you all the trends we are seeing couples loving in 2023! Experience has taught us that trends can move and change but at the core, couples want to share who they are with their friends and family on their wedding day. Which is what we love to do here at Jaclyn Watson Events! So, sit back, relax and enjoy our top six predictions for 2023!
Colors
Soft pastel palettes are here to stay especially pinks, oranges, blues, and greens. We also see couples wanting to go a bit bolder when it comes to color, incorporating more jeweled tone colors as seen reflected in 2023’s predicted colors of the year like Canyon Ridge (blushy-coral color from Walmart’s Better Homes & Gardens), Terra Rose (deep rosy pink hue from Dunn-Edwards), Vining Ivy (blue-green color from Glidden Paint by PPG), and Spanish Moss (midnight green color from Krylon).

Personalization is Key!
At JWE, we love to tell a couple’s story by sprinkling personal details throughout their wedding. This includes anything from taking a personal memento from the couple’s love story and making it a centerpiece for their reception design to sewing sweet messages on shirts, ties, dresses, veils and handkerchiefs. We believe couples are shying away from tradition and making their own rules, giving their guests a front row seat to their love story on their wedding day.

Going Big is In!
We predict 2023 will be a year of extreme for couples, where in 2022 they wanted a bit more simplicity. Couples want to make a statement, especially when it comes to setting the stage at their wedding. That includes using unique and bold backdrops for their ceremony, bands, and sweetheart and wedding party tables. They will be going all out looking for that ‘wow’ effect using extreme design elements along with ensuring that their personalities are represented throughout.

Dress Styles
We see dress styles trending from sentimental to bolder statements that include adding bespoke embellishments. This includes pearl detailing, big bows, rosettes, feathers, and ruffles. Trends are leaning towards strapless, colored, and shorter hemline dresses with the addition of capes or impressive cathedral trains. We also see the simple slip dress coming back in style along with dress suits and separates, giving options for multiple wardrobe changes throughout the wedding day.
For wedding party attire, we believe the mismatched wedding party style is not going anywhere! As couples want more customization in their wedding design, they will also want to let their wedding party express their personalities through their attire.

Incorporating Texture
Weaving the five senses into our wedding design is one of our favorite things to do for our couples. Bringing in unique textured elements is a creative way to bring out that 3D effect. We see couples incorporating edgy and unexpected textured elements in their wedding design, anything from unusual hanging elements to unique charger plates to distinctive linens. This lends to the boldness trend filtering into their wedding design including ruffles, feathers, bows, sheer or gauzy elements, fringed or layered overlays, and jeweled embellishments.

Engagement Rings
Oval-style engagement rings are becoming the most popular shape; however, the classic round-cut diamond rings will never go out of style. Yellow gold is in along with couples trending to go a bit more non-traditional with their ring style. This includes two-stone setting rings along with other alternative engagement rings like non-diamond center stones including sapphires, rubies, moissanite, morganite, and aquamarine. Couples also are electing to shop for engagement rings together, foregoing tradition.
