Why do we need a wedding planner?

Planning your wedding will involve hundreds of decisions and a large commitment of time.  A wedding planner can help you make the best decisions and eliminate a lot of stress.  Take a look at our wedding planning and design options for a detailed overview of what Jackie Watson and her team will do for you.

Full Planning or Partial Planning: How do we choose?

Full planning is for the person who doesn’t have time to dedicate to planning an event. Our forty-hour-a-week job IS planning your event. Partial planning means JWE is your part-time hire; this incurs a lot more responsibility on your part. The final question is: How much of your time (and life) do you have to dedicate to your wedding planning for the coming months? If you are a busy professional with a full-time career and outside interests, you may quickly find that planning is overtaking any free time you have. We’re here to help lift that burden in whatever capacity you need us to so you can enjoy being engaged!

What is a realistic wedding budget?

A realistic budget will look different for every couple. No two weddings have the same guest count or design elements, and everyone has different things they prioritize. With our extensive network of pros, we can often guide you toward the best fit for your dreams and your budget! We encourage you to share your max budget with us so we can help you find the best vendors at your price point.

Is it acceptable to limit our guest list?

Absolutely. Not every couple wants a large wedding, and some feel a lot of pressure with many eyes on them. Some couples want help navigating how to let their guests know they would like a child-free wedding or eliminate plus ones from the guest list. We’re here to help you design a wedding that is your vision and to help you with any etiquette or sticky situations to accommodate your desires.

Can you help me find a venue?

Yes.  We can help you select the perfect venue for your wedding.  Once we learn a bit more about you and your wedding, we will be able to provide you with recommendations. We are very familiar with all of the venues in the region and have worked at many of them over the years.

Do we have to work with your preferred vendors?

When you work with Jaclyn Watson Events, it is our job to make sure that every detail of the big day has been thought through and planned for. We have vetted all our preferred vendors in order to provide an unparalleled experience with those we work alongside on this project as a courtesy to you and assurance to you. We know you are getting the best of the best when you work with them. However, we are open to your suggestions for new vendors we might not have worked with before.

What design elements make the biggest impact?

Without a doubt, lighting sets the mood for your entire event and draws all eyes in. From countless candles to chandeliers and twinkling lights, lighting helps elevate your design! Good lighting will impact the mood and feel of the wedding and improve your photographs. We’re here to guide you in the lighting aesthetics that fit your style and budget.

Will you help me design a floor plan for my event?

We will work with you to design a layout for your event that incorporates your vision and facilitates a smooth flow.  We will review table sizes, locations, guests per table, dance floor, food stations, and bar locations so that no detail is overlooked.

What areas do you service?

While our primary focus is on Vermont and New England,  we have planned weddings at destinations throughout the United States and around the world.

Can we see pictures of some of your previous weddings?

Of course!  Our gallery and blog contain hundreds of images from previous weddings.

How long have you been planning weddings?

Jaclyn Watson Events has provided design and planning services for more than 10 years.

Can you provide reviews and references?

We have many outstanding five-star reviews on The Knot and WeddingWire. You will find some of them on our Reviews page.

Do you book more than one wedding on the same day?

We offer our services to only a select number of clients each year, typically 12 or fewer, and never more than one on a given weekend.  This allows us to completely immerse ourselves in creating an extraordinary and awe-inspiring experience for you and your loved ones.

Do you charge a travel fee?

For weddings more than an hour away from our office in Vermont, there will be an additional fee for transportation and lodging.

How far in advance should we book you?

We recommend that you book our services at the very beginning of your wedding planning journey.  Most of our clients start working with us 8 to 24 months before their wedding date.

What do we need to do to book you?

We make the process easy.  After an initial call or meeting, we will provide you with an agreement for you to review and return.
